The first training event for kindergarten teachers as part of the Erasmus+ project “Kids & Laws” took place in Athens, Greece, from July 7 to July 12, 2024. This initiative aims to equip educators with innovative approaches for teaching preschool children about basic legal norms, moral behavior, and respect for human rights. The training covered key topics, including encouraging tolerance, reducing discrimination, promoting the rule of law, and implementing strategies to manage and reduce aggression in young children. Participants engaged in interactive workshops, case studies, and collaborative exercises as to develop practical lesson plans and apply educational methods effectively.
The event also featured parallel sessions for project leaders, focusing on refining promotional strategies and establishing a transnational partnership to improve educational processes in the regions of North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Greece. Digital tools such as the eTwinning platform, along with open educational resources like Padlet and Story Jumper, were introduced to enhance collaborative learning and project presentation.
Beyond professional development, the program offered cultural and networking opportunities, including a traditional Greek dinner to foster connections among participants. The training culminated in the creation of 24 detailed lesson plans and strategic documents, reflecting a comprehensive effort to enhance preschool education with a focus on legal and ethical foundations. This event represents a significant step towards improving early childhood education practices across partner regions.
