From August 4 to August 9, 2024, the second training event for kindergarten teachers under the Erasmus+ project “Kids & Laws” successfully took place in Velingrad, Bulgaria. This event built upon the project’s mission to provide educators with innovative tools and methodologies to teach preschool children about basic legal norms, moral behavior, and respect for human rights.
The program featured comprehensive sessions aimed at enhancing educators’ skills in areas such as:
- Utilizing Open Educational Resources (OER) for young children.
- Fostering Tolerance and Reducing Discrimination.
- Addressing Aggressive Behavior in preschool settings.
- Teaching Legal Norms and Human Rights through practical case studies and interactive lesson plans.
Participants actively engaged in collaborative exercises, which resulted in the creation of 24 preparatory lesson plans and eight detailed case studies for classroom implementation. These activities were guided by expert trainers from partnering NGOs, ensuring practical and impactful outcomes.
Simultaneously, project management team members worked on developing a strategic document for establishing a transnational partnership aimed at improving educational practices in North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Greece. Interactive activities such as small group evaluations and practical demonstrations of created scenarios were integral to the process.
The event also emphasized cultural exchange, highlighted by a traditional Bulgarian dinner, which fostered stronger connections among participants. The training concluded with presentations of outcomes, discussions on future project activities, and planning for long-term transnational events within participating kindergartens.
This successful event represented another step forward in the project’s vision to equip educators with innovative strategies for nurturing responsible, ethical behavior in young children and enhancing early childhood education across the partner regions.
