CIVIC

Crafting Innovative Virtual Interactions for Civic Competences

Description

The CIVIC project develops a large-scale Virtual Exchange ecosystem connecting youth from EU Member States and the Western Balkans. Through gamified digital spaces, interactive live sessions, and peer-to-peer learning, the project strengthens digital citizenship, critical media literacy, intercultural dialogue, and civic engagement. It targets especially vulnerable young people (NEETs, migrants, marginalized groups) who often lack access to international mobility, digital literacy training, and safe online learning environments. Across 32 Virtual Exchange rounds, more than 2,500 youth will participate in live sessions, challenges, and youth-led civic digital actions inside a GatherTown-based virtual world.

  1. Strengthen critical digital literacy by equipping youth to recognise disinformation, think critically, and navigate online environments safely.
  2.  Encourage active involvement in civic initiatives through cross-border dialogue and collaborative activities.
  3. Provide NEETs, migrants, and marginalized young people with supportive, inclusive online spaces.
  4. Build youth-led digital narratives and campaigns
  5. Develop a network of youth leaders capable of facilitating VE sessions and promoting digital citizenship.
  1. Creation of a gamified GatherTown environment, digital tools, MOOC elements, onboarding materials, and accessibility adaptations.
  2. Creation of learning modules and pedagogical tools
  3. Implementation of 32 Virtual Exchange Rounds
  4. Youth-led Digital Campaigns & Civic Actions
