The MESI4SEN project, dedicated to supporting mild mentally disabled (MMD) students, their families, and special education teachers, has officially begun. The kick-off meeting took place in Brussels from May 2 to 5, 2023, bringing together partners committed to making a meaningful impact in special education across Europe.

This forward-thinking initiative focuses on developing the MESI for SEN distance education portal, which provides academic knowledge, personal development opportunities, and professional competence enhancement. By fostering continued education and integrating social and artistic activities, MESI4SEN promotes the holistic growth of students while supporting institutions and organizations in the field.

Key Objectives of MESI4SEN include:

  • Understanding needs: Conducting surveys to identify the requirements of MMD students, teachers, and families.
  • Building a framework: Developing a Curriculum Framework Plan for the MESI for SEN MOODLE LMS platform, informed by data-driven insights.
  • Facilitating collaboration: Coordinating transnational meetings to ensure effective project management and execution.

The kick-off meeting laid a strong foundation for achieving the project’s goals. MESI4SEN is poised to enhance educational opportunities, foster social growth, and empower the special education sector with innovative tools and resources.
