Bridges to Belonging: Integrating Ukrainian students to European HEIs

Description

Bridges to Belonging aims to support the meaningful academic, social, and psychological integration of displaced Ukrainian students into European Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The project develops a comprehensive integration framework, trains educators in inclusive practices, and pilots structured support mechanisms across multiple universities. Through cross-border cooperation between EU and Ukrainian institutions, the project enhances institutional capacity, strengthens resilience, and ensures long-term continuity of learning for affected students.

  1. Provide academic, psychological, linguistic, and social support for 250 displaced Ukrainian students to ensure continuity of education and long-term academic success.
  2. Equip HEIs with a structured integration framework and train 50 educators in inclusive teaching, cultural adaptation, and student support.

  3. Enhance cooperation between EU and Ukrainian HEIs, promoting knowledge-sharing, joint capacity-building, and institutional resilience.

  1. Create a structured model for academic, psychological, and social support, informed by feedback from 250 students and 50 educators.
  2. Deliver a 10-module training curriculum to 50 educators, focusing on inclusive pedagogy, mental-health-sensitive teaching, and cultural adaptation skills.

  3. Organize 10 regional workshops and a final international conference, reaching 600 stakeholders, HEI leaders, policymakers, and NGOs.

  4. Embed the framework and training modules into institutional policies and ensure that at least 10 additional HEIs adopt the model after the project ends.
